TRISH’S 7 LAYER BARS RECIPE
(They’re fun, easy to make, and yummy) What you’ll need:
-
4 oz unsalted butter
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (go ahead, use the mix stuff, no one will know!)
3 oz coconut flakes
3 oz chocolate chips
3 oz butterscotch chips
3 oz heath bar bits
3 oz pecan chips
One 3 1/2 oz Lindt excellence bar
One 3 1/2 oz Lindt milk chocolate bar
One 3 1/2 oz Lindt white chocolate bar
(Max says white chocolate is a waste of chocolate, but in this case I must disagree!)
One 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk (spring for the Borden’s Golden Eagle
Brand, it really does make a difference!)
A 9×13x2″ baking pan. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl melt butter (I nuke it for a minute) Stir in graham crumbs until mixed well, pat mixture into the bottom of your
baking dish. Layer remaining ingredients; be sure to break the Lindt bars into small pieces. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over your creation and bake for 30 minutes. Cool to room temperature. I pop the pan into the fridge once it’s cooled for 1/2 an hour, and then cut into bars.
You can always add or delete your own ingredients. I’ve used chopped Butterfingers and Reisen Candies and they work wonderfully. I highly recommend using the Lindt bars because they add that certain je ne c’est pas!
